September 1999 - Season Not Far Away
|
Just a few weeks now... |
With the start of the season not far away the new boats are being prepared for the glossy paint. Dave Pairmans Woof woof hull is well under way. With some effort we might see it on opening day. Bevan and Paul's Sydenham Bakery Skiff is waiting for Bevan to heat the workshop up for the big paint. The Acid rock boys are rumoured to be building a new mould. Could this be the new secret weapon from Charteris Bay? All the old salts are saying that their boats don't need any maintenance this year! Everyone that has said this to me has always had resin stains on their jeans, or were they just happy to see me?
Check out Last Months News for some pictures of the new hull

One to inspire the oldtimers... |
The organising committee is very advanced with the planning for this most awesome event. The social calendar will be huge as expected. For this historic event the reunion dinner is being held at Ferrymead Historic Park. With a 50's theme including a 50's band, legends will be created on this occasion. The sailing will also create legends of other sorts with a reunion regatta being held for the old salts to get back in the saddle for a relaxing race each day, at the same time the Carbon and Kevlar bullets will do their bizzo.
