What at first appeared a dreary day turned into an enjoyable day all round as a groups of young sailors tried out both R's and 3.7's.
Seven keen P and one 420 sailor took the opportunity to "have a go" on the R's with an experienced R sailor onboard. The breeze was an ideal light southerly with mostly twinning conditions. Everyone had a go at both crew/skipper positions and impressed the regular R guys with their skills and adaptability. Everyone enjoyed a good hour on the boat, mastering the finer arts of R sailing with ease.
Thanks to
- Paul MacGibbon on Bully Hayes for taking out David, Matt, Jess and Katie
- Paul Roe on Subwoofer for taking out Michael, Adam, Paula and Matt.
- Kevin Holland, John Kennett and Trevor George for making their 3.7's available to all comers.
Thanks also to Joanne Glassford (for arranging the event and braving the cold), Sean Milner and all those on shore support who endured the conditions.
