Closing Day NPCL
Four R's turned up for the last official racing day at Naval Point. Sean Milner and Dan Leech on Davie Norris Boats lead the way on the first of the two long zigzag laps round Parsons Rock, Battery Point, Diamond Harbour and Church Bay. As the breeze built, Subwoofer's Paul Roe and Steve MacIntosh, hauled Davie Norris in downhill when they lost their way at Diamond Harbour with a kite tangle. Subwoofer lead the rest of the way winning comfortably from Davie Norris. Richard Chapman and Grant Nelson excelled in the conditions on 92 MoreFM and Mitch Dean and Tony Park followed them to the finish in Liquid.
Post Race Rides on Subwoofer
The breeze had built to a solid 20kts with strong gusts and a moderate chop. Undaunted, Paula and Jess were keen to have a go after their intro to R's the week before.
Upwind was trying with full rig and we got blown down a few times in tacks. The rides downhill were exhilarating, with a highspeed cartwheel for Paula after hitting a large patch of weed, and plenty of speed, air and some high speed gybes for Jess.
