    7. Remit: Rule 1.0 Round bilge - to be deleted.
    8. General Discussion

The 2004 conference was not held at Leander 2004 in Auckland because the Secretary did not attend!

For this year, the conference was held as an email and reply conference. The agenda, minutes, accounts, remit and discussion was emailed to the three squadrons ( S.Hogg, T. Bartlett and S. Milner) who returned this meeting document with their comments and voting added. These have been collated and results recorded below.

REMIT. The enclosed remit proposed by Canterbury will need a squadron vote by the end of July. Assuming it succeeds at conference. It will then go to registered boat owners where a 2/3 majority is required.

  1. Minutes 2003 - separate document attached. Accepted_Milner and Hogg
  2. Presentation of Accounts - separate document. Things to note:

the late payment of the YNZ affiliation 2003 $95.63 which will appear in next years accounts.

Boat registration continues to cover YNZ affiliation with a little to spare.

The NZ R squadron funds will soon be lodged in the Canterbury Squadron account. Thus avoiding bank fees and cheque fees. The NZ squadron balance will be listed separately in Canterbury’s accounts and will include income from interest ( which is pathetically minimal anyway) nor bank fees (which have amounted to $40 annually)

Accepted_Milner and Hogg

  1. Election of secretary - S MacIntosh reelected unopposed_Minner and Hogg
  2. Boat Registration. Moved that the registration fee be unchanged at $10 per boat. Milner/Mac

Agreed_Milner and Hogg

Assuming the fee is $10 the amounts due for each squadron based on boats entered in Leander are listed below. If you wish to Register other boats please add the names and $10 per boat. Only these owners have voting rights on the round bilge remit.

Auckland 9 boats at $10 $90 To be paid

Wellington 1 boat at $10 $10 To be paid

Canterbury 11 boats at $10 $110 (paid)(11 boats Steve)

  1. Web site fee payment: Canterbury has offered to cover this cost this year.
  2. Contest Venue and time for 2004

Worser Bay Yacht Club March 11 - 14

Hoggi expressed the view that the paper work and conditions set by YNZ were unlikely to be met in the required time frame. No other opinions were stated. I assume the squadrons are resigned to this situation.

  1. Contact details: It would be useful for our website to have contact details for each squadron and even for other areas where there is no squadron operating. Let me know if you are happy to have your name and email on the web site. Thanks Hoggi for your details. Yet to hear from Auckland on this matter.
  2. REMIT. 1.0 Round bilge rule deleted. (See rule and rationale ). Proposed Canterbury

Auckland delegate no response

Wellington delegate agree

Canterbury delegate Agree

Could each squadron contact the registered boat owners and get their vote. If the vote seems overwhelmingly in support I won't send out individual voting papers - if it is close to the 2/3 cut-off majority I will do it more formally. Please send me each name and their vote.

  1. General discussion - no issues bwere rasied

I declare the Annual 2003/2004 confrence closed - next conference will be at Worser Bay at Leander.

Steve MacIntosh
