This seasons Ruddiman was held over show Weekend (18/19 November 2000) in Nelson (again). And looked like taking back the Harry Blanchard Trophy until Sean and Steve, in The Weapon, broke their mast tip. This allowed Wellingtons Steve Hogg and Neill Wood, Stagecoach, to retain the individual trophy.

The Ruddiman saw the first serious outing of the "new" Buster Crew who provided some good excitement on Sunday by attempting to moor under a jetty.
