Fourth attempt with hydrofoils a success

Sean and Dan's latest attempt to get the L3 going on Hydrofoils proves to be a success.

The guys took the L3 out on Sunday at Charteris Bay for another  attempt at sustained hydrofoiling. The previous two attempts had been cut short due to breakages and they were confident that they would be able to foil for a lot longer this time. The conditions were good with a 17 - 20knot Easterly and flat water.  This time the wand was set higher so the boat wouldn't climb too high and get out of control due to lack of steering. This proved to be a good plan as the guys had a lot more control this time and were able to head upwind for a considerable amount of time. The only trouble they ran into was when the return bungy on the wand somehow managed to detach itself resulting in a spectacular take off with the boat rising high out of the water and quickly bearing off and wiping out as control over the steering was lost. All in all we think it was a very successful day as the guys had great boat speed and the ride height was maintained very smoothly.
