2004 Canterbury Commodores Report
Firstly I would like to send out a big thanks to Sheryl for the outstanding job done over the year. I would also like to thank the few that have contributed in the running of the squadron, you will know if you fall in this category or not.
Well what a mixed year for results! We had a different winner for every event, a first as far as I can recall. This made things a bit more interesting. We had 1 new boat in Canterbury built for the 2003/4 season and only managed to take 6 boats to the Leander.
However we have sold Buster and now it's in Picton, so hopefully we will get more interest going up there. We still get plenty of interest from overseas, but nothing has eventuated as yet which is frustrating.
Looking forward to the 2004/5 season the squadron has the usual events, with the Leander to be held at Worser Bay.
On a closing note we all need to actively seek people to join to grow the class and the best way is by taking people out for a blast whenever possible. If you have any other suggestions let us know!
