That's right folks, it's that time of year again to drag out the silverware and impress the citizens of Christchurch with our gastronomic sophistication, intelligent conversation and blindingly sharp wit (or slagging off the competition as it's known in some circles)

This year's prizegiving dinner will be held at  Blue Jean Cuisine, Friday 22nd June at 7:00pm. You will find this fine establishment located on the corner of Columbo and Brougham Streets in the old Sydenham Post Office, and together we will celebrate the successes of the past season and with suitable embellishment, recount the dramas, near misses and every other minor detail that happened in the last twenty years.

Having heard most of these stories before, we've had a request from some members to introduce a younger theme to this years event. Despite the initial recommendation of a student all-you-can-eat $10 special, the selection of this year's venue will (hopefully) provide us with our own room up (very steep) stairs. For those finding this an insurmountable obstacle, a range of tasty snacks will be available from the bar on the ground floor.

Interest and numbers are high - be assured this won't be one of those 'loser' events where you wished you stayed home and watched "Shorters" instead. If you're keen to attend and haven't spoken to Doug already, you can reserve a place by phoning him on (03) 942-9555.
