Hull joined together

Both halves of the hull need to be joined before framing and tanks can be added.

Nuplex Industries Limited LogoAfter the inner carbon skin is cured the centerline is sanded flush with the mould. Then the halves are bolted together and a later of carbon glued down the join line.

The centreline join is visible as are the recesses for the wing mount points and the drain arch. A combined  king strut (tube that goes under the deck from the bow to the top of the mast base tube) and bow sprit will be used. The hole which it will protrude through is visible at the bottom of this image.

A lot of the framing is cut from a single flat sheet of 8mm foam sandwich. The foredeck and the front X frame are curved and made on their own moulds. Front x frame is used for the self tacker mounting, hence the curve. The centreline join is visible as are the recesses for the wing mount points and the drain arch.
