Squadron Boat Application Criteria for use of Squadron owned boats The Canterbury R-Class Squadron currently owns three boats available for use by individuals upon written application to the squadron secretary. These boats are: Rabid Raptor Acid Rock The criteria for use is laid out as follows: Permitted use of the boat is valid for one season only. Use of a squadron boat for the following sailing season (or any other sailing season) requires a new application to be submitted prior. Successful applicants will be expected to sail regularly for the entire season for at least 2 sailing Saturdays per month (unless repairs dictate otherwise) Successful applicants are expected to maintain allotted boats in good order and pay for any breakages and minor running costs. No repairs may be undertaken without first consulting a senior member of the squadron to prevent substandard repairs being carried out or leaving the boat non-compliant with class design rules. Successful applicants may not alter their allocated boat in any way without the express permission of the Canterbury R-Class Squadron to prevent unnecessary and/or substandard repairs being carried out, or leaving the boat non-compliant with class design rules. The Canterbury R-Class Squadron reserves the right to veto at any stage any person’s use of it’s boats if it is considered weather conditions are in excess of those person’s ability to sail in such conditions. Successful applicants will be required to join the Canterbury R-Class Squadron during the season for which they have use of their allocated boat ($50 per person (waged), $25 per person un-waged)).
