General Business

Halyard release - Wellington signalled they will forward a remit to allow main to be shackled provided a shackle key is carried in the boat.

Lifejacket - P. DeLisle pointed out that it is unfair to expect the hosting authority of the contest to turn a blind eye to competitors without lifejackets. The secretary is to pursue a dispensation for the class in line with that of the 12’ skiffs for competitors with full wetsuits. Advice to be sought from G. Roake on how to present this to YNZ. A remit to be written for next conference after approval from YNZ sought.

Measurement forms - P. DeLisle questioned whether the rules relating to the contest measurer inspecting sails and squadrons presenting meaurement forms was being adhered to.

A remit to be writtten putting responsibility in hands of squadron measurers. Measurement form/spreadsheet to be put on the website.

Spinnaker measurement - The difficulty for sailmakers to build a kite to measure is caused by the cross-measurement. Steve to investigate a perimeter formula with K. Fyfe with a view to writing a remit.

Thanks - S. Milner moved a vote of appreciation for the 1999 contest organisers.

Meeting closed around 9.20pm
