16/4/2001 Last Day of Leander 2001. We Have a Winner!

Last day and final results of the 2001 Contest.

Day 4

Conditions: F&P Smartdrive 1 - Lightly soiled. Wind 3/10/7kts. Tide - unfathomable

Race 7

Smit Millar dominant the whole way chased by a mixed bunch of the usual suspects.

Shorter race due to late start because of the continuing Auckland Cyclone's 0 - 3 kts. Buffy the Custard Slayer again proved you can't Parksy a pole on a custard square (this time the rig, usually the prod).

Race 8

Smit Millar toyed with us by swapping skipper and crew. And paid the price by coming a clear first. Brothers Mac in Chemical Weapon and Design Source had a good battle thoughout. With Paul bullying his way to the front following a life pattern ("The boys always played so well together as children" Mrs M Senior).

The munchkins in Exonet did well again.

Liquid by name, liquid by nature - couldn't keep themselves out of it (twice).

Smit Millar (AKL) has taken the contest in fine style. With defending champion Chemical Weapon (CAN) runner up and Design Source (AKL) third.

1 F&P - Fisher & Paykel. New Zealand washing machine manufacturer.
